Blogs are typically written with a strong focus on timeliness. Users may post questions and comments on the blog for other readers to see.

Radiology Management :: MedSolution Partners with Aetna in Michigan

MedSolutions has announced its partnership with Aetna in Michigan to provide radiology management services to its members beginning with dates of service August 1, 2008. Notification of this new program should have been sent to providers in May in an announcement from Aetna.

All outpatient elective MR, CT, PET & NCM studies performed on or after this date require prior authorization from MedSolutions. Imaging studies performed in conjunction with an inpatient stay or emergency room visits are not subject to authorization requirements. MedSolutions will begin accepting authorization requests on Friday, August 1st 2008.

“Studies performed without required authorization may be denied payment and you may not seek reimbursement from any Aetna member in Michigan”

To request an authorization, you may use the MedSolutions  website located at www.medsolutions.com or call 888-693-3211 or send a MedSolutions request form (available on the MedSolutions website) by fax to 888-693-3210. MedSolutions recommends that referring physicians secure the authorization and pass the authorization number to the rendering facility at time of scheduling.
